Reporting & Moderating
GM Intervention: If you witness a player breaking rules, exploiting mechanics, or disrupting the environment, report it immediately to a GM (Gamemaster) via the ticket system with video/screenshot proof
No Public Drama: Do not handle disputes publicly in global chat or Discord; let the staff manage rule enforcement to maintain the realm's tone.
Meta-Gaming
Player knowledge does not equal character knowledge. Your character cannot know things they have not personally witnessed, heard, or read in-game
Utilizing out-of-game info from Discord calls, private messages, live-streams, or OOC banter to gain an in-character advantage is strictly forbidden
You are allowed to send correspondence to another player on Discord as long as you are with them, or leaving a note in a location they frequent and can find later.
NO ERP
Erotic Roleplay (ERP) is strictly forbidden on the server. While romance, love triangles, political marriages, and courting are highly encouraged, ERP has no place here. Engaging in, depicting, or promoting sexually explicit text or imagery anywhere within this server will result in an immediate ban. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for all players and to strictly adhere to Discord's ToS. Keep the focus on the story; leave the explicit details out of the community.
Out-of-Character (OOC)
Negative Out-of-Character actions, trolling, or breaking character in public areas ruin the experience for others and will result in a warning, following a permanent ban if warranted by repeated rule breaks (ex. 1st Offense = 3 days, 2nd Offense = 14 days, 3rd Offense = Ban).
Alt Accounts & Ban Evasion
The use of alternative accounts to bypass server punishments, will result an immediate and irreversible ban.
Advertisements & Invites
Unsolicited advertising of other Discord servers, social media, or products via public channels or direct messaging is not allowed.
Age Requirement
Alduinak is a strictly 18+ community. By participating in this server, you are acknowledging that you meet the age requirement.
Be Respectful
Treat all members of Alduinak with respect, courtesy, and kindness. Harassment, bullying, personal attacks, discrimination, threats, and hate speech of any kind are not tolerated. This includes comments involving ethnicity, race, religion, gender, or similar topics.
Public Accusations and Disputes
Do not publicly condemn, shame, accuse, or denounce other players. Reports involving in-game cheating, OOC conflicts, server violations, or exploits must be handled privately through the proper channels.
Appropriate Language, Topics & Decorum
Excessively vulgar, obscene, or disturbing topics and discussions are not allowed. This includes topics involving suicide, self-harm, or graphic real-world content.
Do Not Spam
Do not disrupt the server with spam, excessive capitalization, flooding, or intentional disruption of conversations between members.
Illegal & Harmful Content
Uploading, discussing, distributing, or sharing illegal, pirated, harmful, or malicious material is strictly prohibited. This includes piracy, cheats, hacks, shock content, and similar content.
Advertising
Do not advertise other servers or external communities. Advertisements are only allowed for Alduinak-related factions, communities, or groups, unless approved by staff.
Politics & Real World Topics
Real-world politics, topics, religion, symbols, and discussions not involving The Elder Scrolls are prohibited.
Voice Chat Etiquette
Ear-rape audio, blasting music, or soundboards through voice chat is not allowed. Exceptions apply for bard performances, approved events, or specific circumstances.
Loopholes & Workarounds
Any attempt to exploit, work around, or intentionally bypass Alduinak's official rules is not allowed.
Stay in Character
Players must remain in-character at all times while within the world of Alduinak
Lore Accuracy
All character concepts, backstories, names, and visual designs must fit strictly within established Elder Scrolls lore
Flawless, all-powerful, or divine-proxy characters are prohibited. Your character must have realistic flaws, limitations, and vulnerabilities
Character Names
Players cannot name their characters with identical first and last names of Skyrim NPC characters. This also follows for naming your character after a aedra, daedra, or other entity.
Tamrielic Prejudice vs Real-World Bigotry
Fantasy-based prejudice native to the Elder Scrolls Universe (e.g, a Nord distrusting historical tensions and in-realm racist slurs are permitted as in-character (IC) narrative devices). It must serve to drive compelling, lore-accurate roleplay storylines
Real-world racism, hate speech, slurs, bigotry, and discrimination of any kind are met with an immediate, irreversible permanent ban
The moment fantasy prejudice crosses into OOC harassment, player bullying, or utilizes real-world derogatory concepts masked as "lore", staff will intervene instantly. If another player expresses OOC discomfort with a tense interaction, you must tone it down or walk away
Power-Gaming
You cannot use information from Discord, live-streams, or your previous characters to benefit your current story. All in-game actions must stem solely from your current character’s personal knowledge
Passing items, gold, or property between your own alternate characters (or via a friend) is strictly prohibited. If your character is PK’d, their belongings are permanently lost to you. You can briefly pass on your belongings to a friend, but NOT for yourself
Factions, cliques, or cabals designed to systematically overthrow and ruin the server’s mechanical or narrative stability are banned. Large-scale plots must be coordinated with staff to ensure fairness
Skipping roleplay animations, abusing movement glitches, or exploiting engine bugs to gain an advantage counts as power-gaming and is punishable
Forcing an action or physical outcome on another player without giving them a fair statistical or emote-based chance to react, defend, or resist is strictly prohibited
Using the /stuck command or logging out to escape an active roleplay, capture, or combat situation is classified as Fail RP and results in immediate administrative action. You CANNOT use the /stuck command to conveniently relocate or to travel the world
Fear RP
Characters must realistically fear death, severe pain, and permanent injury. If a weapon is drawn on you, or you are heavily outnumbered, you must roleplay fear and comply with reasonable demands rather than acting like an immortal hero
Mortals possess an instinctual dread of otherworldly forces. You must emote appropriate panic, flight, or deep revulsion when directly confronted by Werewolves, Vampires, or Daedric threats
Combat & RDM (Random Deathmatch)
You cannot attack, ambush, rob, or kill another player without a deep in-character motive and clear verbal or emoted initiation
Killing players without a well-established history of conflict, an immediate roleplayed threat, or active escalation is strictly forbidden. This also applies to killing AFK players who are not present to defend themselves or able to interact
Disconnecting, closing your game, or logging out during active combat or an intense RP scene to avoid consequences will result in an immediate penalty
Residency Rules
Breaking into a player-owned home, fortress, or campsite is illegal in-character and serves as valid grounds for immediate physical escalation or combat, provided the narrative flows naturally
Players are only allowed to have one residency. Business owners cannot own additional property outside of their store
Character Deaths & PK (Permanent Kill)
Life in Skyrim is fragile. If a high-stakes narrative situation dictates that your character must die (such as a mutually agreed-upon duel to the death or a doomed last stand), that death is permanent (PK)
Outside of designated high-risk PvP zones or explicitly agreed-upon conflict arcs, a permanent kill requires the consent of the receiving player. If consent is withheld, the defeat must be roleplayed as a severe, long-lasting injury
If your character suffers a non-permanent defeat (e.g., knocked out by town guards or losing a minor skirmish), they must forget the specific events leading directly to their downfall. They cannot return to that exact engagement scene for 30 minutes or it's considered Fail RP
Character PK & Imprisonment
If your character is caught committing a murder, attempting a murder, or plotting a murder (with irrefutable proof that they did - witness saw your face, survived the encounter, others witnessed, an explicit written confession, etc), characters can be charged w/o a PK ticket being requested. Evidence can still be sent in, but an official ticket is not required. A trial will take place IC, to which prisoners will be charged of their crimes and their sentences carried out. Players still have the right to request staff review after the fact they believe the "proof" was obtained through meta-gaming or fabricated OOC.
Captivity
You may not hold a player captive indefinitely just to remove them from the game. Captivity must serve a clear narrative goal, such as a planned rescue mission, political extortion, a ransom demand, or a formal legal trial
Captors must respect the real-world time of the player being held captive. You must provide OOC breaks and ensure you do not abandon a player stranded in a secure area without any avenues for roleplay or release
Banditry & Theft
When robbing a player, you cannot demand their entire inventory, all of their wealth, or unrealistic assets (like stripping them of soulbound or unfeasible items). Bandits are limited to taking 2 items from their victims. Bandits also have the option to request to see the victims inventory through the interaction menu, though the 2 item limit still applies. Only 10% of their gold can be taken.
Robberies are roleplay events, not mechanical speedruns. You must initiate the robbery with thorough roleplay and provide the victim with a reasonable amount of time to respond and comply
The Graveyard (Obituraries)
When a character suffers a permanent death, the player can post an obituary, final thoughts, or a narrative wrap-up in the 🪦|graveyard channel. This serves as the official historical archive of the server’s fallen heroes, villains, and drifters
Raven & Faction Pings
Sending server-wide text alerts or “raven messages” across the map is highly restricted to preserve realistic communication constraints. Only Jarls, high-ranking military commanders, and the Arch-Mage of the College are authorized to utilize these creatures for messages of strict global importance
Voice and Chat Conduct
Keep Out-of-Character text strictly in /ooc command when using local text channels. Global Discord or in-game OOC channels are meant solely for casual banter and must never influence or bleed into active in-game events
Economy, Crafting & Looting
Upon defeating a rival player in an authorized, properly initiated combat scenario, you are mechanically limited to looting a maximum of 2 items from their inventory
Intentionally hoarding rare crafting resources or manipulating merchants to establish a complete monopoly is prohibited. This ensures the server economy remains healthy and accessible for crafters of all levels
(these rules may be changed or altered before launch)
